Jim Corbett was an Indian born
English hunter who turned into a Naturalist. Corbett National
Park is named in his honor. It lies in the foothills of the
Himalayan Ranges and is abundant in wildlife and bird species.

Tigers, leopards and wild elephants are the
main attraction. There are about 50 mammals and about 550
species of birds recorded here.
Corbett NP Along with the adjoining Sonanadi Sanctuary, form
India’s first National Reserve – the Corbett Tiger
Reserve.
The Ramganga River flows through the Park and is home to
the Great Indian Gharial – a fish eating, long nosed
crocodile.
The jungle belongs to the 250 wild elephants. They have the
right of way here.
The Jungles of Kanha are the finest in India with rich flora
and fauna, virtually undisturbed by civilization, despite
mounting pressures on the wilderness. It is a rich habitat
for Tigers, Leopards, Sloth Bears, Wild dogs, Wolfs and a
myriad of other life forms. Birds, like peacocks, parrots
and mynah are an integral part of this jungle and are abundant
Kanha, with an approximate Tiger population of 125 is now
the most prominent park for Tiger Tourism. Not spotting a
Tiger at Kanha is a rare occurrence.
‘Tiger Show’ – is a term used by the guides
when you are taken on elephant back into the forest and tigers
are tracked and spotted. Tiger shows are done in the morning
only as the elephants become very hot as the day progresses.
By mid morning, these elephants are let loose to bathe and
graze in open grasslands.
Bandhavgarh is a small but unique historical park. The Bandhavgarh
White Tigers have their origins here. The old fort on the
hilltop, along with its prisons has many stories to tell.
The Marble Rocks are a deep gorge (deeper than 800 feet at
places) carved out of pure marble hill sides by the Narmada
River.
The boat excursion is through this marble gorge and is a must
for all who visit this area.
